King Solomon
Now the Nation of Israel is truly a functioning government with boarders, a standing army, solid leadership and the respect of its neighbors. Solomon, the third king of Israel, will reap the benefits. He will lead the most respected nation in the known world and his own leadership and wisdom will make him famous.
But within all of this celebration is a sober reality that Solomon is the last king of a unified nation. After Solomon’s death, the Nation of Israel will be torn in two and begin a slide towards destruction for both pieces. We meet in the sanctuary and deal with hurts, habits and hang-ups. The first hour is dedicated to worship, reminding ourselves of our place in the universe, and hearing testimonies of how God has brought people out of their self destructive behaviors.
