We are starting a new series in the Book of James! James is the brother of Jesus and the de facto leader of the followers of The Way in Jerusalem at a time when you could smell revolution in the air. The tension in capital city was so think you could cut it with a knife. We may often think of the tension between the Jews and the new followers of Jesus, but that is simply tossed around by the bigger picture of the rank and file Jews being exploited by the aristocrat Jewish leaders and their oppressive Roman buddies. Hold on. This is going to be a bumpy ride as James promotes a new way to be human.

HAITI: Getting supplies to Haiti has proven to be very hard. We see images all over television like this one. The need is overwhelming!

Fortunately, you have friends in Haiti! The Nazarene Church is partnering with the Haiti Project to ship immediately needed supplies to the earthquake crisis in Haiti. The church’s Caribbean Office in Miami is coordinating the effort to get supplies on the ground. They have created a special store at Amazon.com that only includes the specific items requested by the people already on the ground in Haiti. As a prophet of God, Samuel will lead the Israelites into creating a monarchy that will give the 12 tribes leadership, a capital city, international boarders, a standing army and a system of taxes to run the government.
