The Offense of Religion
The problem with all religion is that all of them has a set of rules to follow that get you to heaven. Jesus came to set us free from the rules in Judaism, yet Christians are fond of getting people to conform to our religious morality, rather than introducing people to Jesus.

Our Church is Smokin’!
So, we had some excitement Thursday night! Let me see if I can give you a timeline from my perspective:
5:45PM| Will, our facilities guy, finds me doing a sound check for Celebrate Recovery and asks me to come smell something (always a bad sign). I step out of the sanctuary, and there some kind of burny smell. Now, it isn’t inside and it wasn’t familiar, Read the rest of this entry »

Favorite Scripture: Joshua 1:9
Favorite Quote: “It’s like an alarm clock’s gone off, and I’ve just got to get away. I think it was John Lennon who said: “Life is what happens when you’re making other plans.”, and that’s how I feel. Although he also said: “I am the Walrus I am the eggman” so I don’t know what to believe.” -Tim Canterbury
Biblical Role Model: David
My Testimony: ” I was raised in a Christian home, and by the grace of God was shielded by most of life’s problems. And that’s pretty much my testimony – that God has provided for me through the good and the bad. Sure, things have gone wrong in my life, but God has been faithful to me and has never left my side through it. I think that Ravi Zacharias puts it well – “Faith is a confidence in the person of Jesus Christ and in His power, so that even when His power does not serve my end, my confidence in Him remains because of who He is.” Amen!”

It is a place with great music, real people and awesome coffee. It is a place that teaches the Bible within its own historical context as well as promoting the virtues of fantasy football! It is a place you can be comfortable dressed comfortable. Read the rest of this entry »
